Novellas and News

Those of you who have been following me on Twitter and FaceBook already know that I have been a busy-bee this past year. I trust my Twitter feed along the right side of this page to keep my blog-followers updated between posts, but I think it's time to fill everyone in on what I have in the fire.

I have branched out to include editing in my repertoire of marketable skills. I have written my best work to date in the past year, and my skill as a writer has improved to a degree that amazes me. I'm not here to brag, just to say that I am in awe and grateful that years of ongoing and open-minded study have been successfully honing my craft. My newest work makes me genuinely proud, and I am immensely eager to share it with all of you.

"Blood in the Sand" is a novella that will be coming out in August of this year. It will debut a universe that my co-author, Monica, and I have been working on for seventeen years. The story is told from the point-of-view of one of my all-time favorite characters. I can not wait to introduce him to the world.

Teaser: Julian keeps his life as an assassin separate from that of a sand sage, but when an old friend and ally asks him to find a daughter lost in the desert, Julian will need both halves of himself to save her. Will his affection for the child compromise his ability to do what he must? And will his necessary insubordination drawn down upon them the wrath of his dark master?

I will also be releasing "Time's Up!", a short that appeared in Missing Pieces three years back, and "The Deathbringer's Apprentice", a novella that appeared in the same annual just last year. Both are fantastic stories, and I get to tell some of the backstory of two wonderful characters in the Midian Saga: Damon and Dardani. Both are must-reads if you are a fan of poly-theistic worlds and if you want a window into the past of some of the greatest powers on the planet during 'present day' Midian stories. Both also feature cameo appearances by a beloved character from "Quietus".

I have also begun assembling a talented cast of authors for an anthology to debut at GenCon Indy 2016. "Singular Irregularity" is a collection of stories about time-travel gone terribly wrong. The submission call is open for another few weeks, but already the stories coming in are a fun and exciting read!

In light of all of my recent activity and the growth of GrayWhisper Graphics Productions, I decided it was time to launch a website for my fast-growing small-press company. There will be more details on the upcoming projects there as well as updates on what's new at GWGP. Stop by soon and often!

As always, thank you for your continued support.
